What weight of paper should I use when I print out the parts?
TDO recommends a paper weight of between 100-120 gms. Regular photocopy is 80 gms which we regard as not being robust enough for professional use.
What weight of paper do you use when you print parts?
TDO uses a robust 160gms paper, twice that of ‘normal’ photocopier paper. TDO has a modified printer that is equipped to take that weight of paper over long print runs.
We consider that 160gsm is strong enough to withstand prolonged use (and often abuse) in a professional environment.
Is there anything ‘special’ about the parts when you print them?
TDO uses 160gms paper; parts are printed at a minimum 600dpi using a water-resistant ink.
Inkjet printers use water soluble inks. Many brass parts can become compromised and even illegible due to water staining.
How do I get the music posted to me?
Although customers predominately prefer to self-print their parts, TopDots offers a print service to its customers. When printed ‘in-house’, TDO uses high quality 160gsm paper (most photocopiers use 80gsm) to ensure the parts are robust enough to withstand even the most demanding of gig/studio situations.
Parts are printed with a high resolution using water resistant ink producing clear and crisp looking parts. Inkjet printers, by their nature, use water soluble inks as brass parts can become compromised and even illegible due to water staining.
Arrangements are posted using first class mail. Please note, there are additional costs for using this service.
How many times can I print each page?
There is a limit of one print per part however Group Vocal parts are automatically duplicated within the multipage and will print off three identical copies.
The software will automatically control the amount of times a product can be printed.
Am I able to purchase and print single additional parts?
Yes, but only If you have already bought and printed the part. Within the print manager just click on the shopping cart icon next to the part you would like to purchase again.
We have added this feature for customers that may have printed but lost parts to avoid them the (unfair) cost of re-purchasing the entire arrangement.
Why do I get 3 copies of the Group Vocal parts when I print?
As there are often multiple group vocalists, when we duplicate the Group vocal part so when it is printed there will be 3 copies. These copies can be given to the various members that make up the vocal group.
Do you provide covers for your arrangements?
